If you turned to this page it may be because you are a leader in the state of Oklahoma or in your community.  You may be a government official, a school administrator, a coach or athletic director, or you may occupy a position of influence in our state by simply being “involved”.  We, at FATE, appreciate your interest in the subject of substance abuse in Oklahoma because it is the most important, preventable health issue facing our state.  Every day people’s lives are adversely affected–some of them are ended–because of substance abuse and addiction.  This issue puts a hole in the bottom of the boat of our state’ s economy.  In one recent estimate, underage drinking alone cost Oklahoma 938 million dollars in a single year.

As a leader, you can do something about this corrosive and life threatening problem in our state.  We have listed below a variety of resources for policy makers and leaders.  But if there is an issue that you do not see addressed and on which you would like information or research, please contact us at FATE and we will obtain the information you need.  Please contact us at info@changeyourfate.org

Also, as a leader, you likely have a group for which you are responsible or with whom you share information and ideas.  Representatives of FATE, including some of the notable athletes and individuals featured in our videos, would welcome the opportunity to speak to your group.  Please contact us at info@changeyourfate.org

As a leader, your mission (should you decide to accept it) is to address Oklahoma substance abuse and addiction problem in a practical way that will truly impact our state and result in a significant reduction in the number of individuals abusing drugs and alcohol.

Research and policy briefs
“Policy briefs” addressing various aspects of substance abuse are available by clicking on the link below.  These briefs were prepared by the Substance Abuse Policy Research Program sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to improving the health and health care of all Americans.
