The Mission of FATE
Fighting Addiction Through Education (FATE) is a non profit organization with a mission to educate the general public on substance abuse and addiction in Oklahoma and to significantly reduce the incidence of abuse and addiction in the state. We focus our educational efforts through the following mediums:
FATE website (for young people, parents, veterans, policy makers and others who want to know more about the issues relating to substance abuse)
In mid high and high schools and on college campuses through rallies and other events involving notable sports personalities
Through media outlets/billboards/twitter/FB
Through personal and group contact with governmental agencies, policy makers and legislators. We strive to educate both public and private sector leaders about the issues of substance abuse and addiction so they can thoughtfully address those issues through programs, funding and legislation where appropriate.
Through media communications and events involving the general public that will increase awareness of the substance abuse problem in Oklahoma and motivate Oklahomans to do something about it.
Through programs and research conducted at the Brandon Whitten Institute located at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma
FATE is an alliance partner with The Partnership at drugfree.org http://www.drugfree.org/
